Update Oct. 5, 2021 - L.A. Pierce College's COVID-19 protocol has begun a significant change due to LACCD policy and all students and employees need to take action to be in compliance. Two deadlines approach, Oct. 8 and Oct. 18, 2021.
The first deadline is Oct. 8, by which ALL students who plan to be onsite at any college or District facility and ALL employees* must create a profile with Biocept and take a baseline COVID test with Biocept on campus Mondays and Tuesdays.
Students who are online only and do not plan to come to campus to take classes, use services, or attend events, are exempt from the new procedures.
*NEW: Faculty that are fully online are not required to do base testing until such time they plan to enter the campus.
*NEW: Faculty that are fully online and have an exemption do not need to do weekly testing unless entering campus facilities.
Our new vendor, Biocept, took over the COVID-19 Testing and Screening operations at Pierce College (replacing the LAPCSafeApp and self-check-in).
Only campus visitors will still use the link to the district self-check link at http://laccd.edu/About/News/Pages/Self-Check-Survey-Landing.aspx
DIRECTIONS:
First, Biocept, under the name Cleared4, will text and/or email each student and employee with a unique link, and at that time you need to create a new profile in their database. There is no generic link to visit.
By now everyone should have received the Cleared4 message. If not, please contact the Cleared4 Help Desk by email to [email protected].
Next, every student and employee needs to be tested for COVID-19 once to create a baseline. Beginning Sept. 20, Biocept will be on campus in the North Gym 5600 two days a week to conduct this testing:
Mondays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
In the text and/or email Biocept/Cleared4work sends, after you complete your profile, click on “Book On-site Covid Test,” choose Pierce NGym5600, and set up your baseline screening choosing from the available times that pop up.
· No later than October 8, 2021, ALL students who plan to be onsite at any college or District facility, and all employees must:
Ø Create a profile account with the District’s official testing vendor, Biocept
Ø Get a free COVID-19 test with the vendor
· Prior to October 18, 2021, ALL students students who plan to be onsite at any college or District facility, and all employees must:
Ø Upload your vaccination information (if you are vaccinated)
Ø Or submit a medical or religious exemption request approved by the District—you must allow at least two days for processing
Ø NOTE: ALL persons granted an exemption must be tested weekly by the District’s official testing vendor as a condition of employment
Finally, everyone will get reminders from Cleared4 with a link to complete the quick self-health check required every day before coming on campus. Once cleared, a digital Clear Pass is issued, and you can show it to gain entry to any indoor campus building or facility, including all of the LACCD campuses and the district office.
Again, using Biocept/Cleared4 through your email or smart phone:
(1) Every day before your come to campus, please take the self-test, and use your CLEAR PASS to come to campus.
(2) Make an appointment and take your one-time baseline COVID-19 test on campus, and
(3) Upload your vaccination card if you are vaccinated
STUDENTS, if you are ONLINE ONLY and do not plan to come to campus at all, you do not need to do this.
Emails have gone out to all students and employees from the district office that describe these procedures and the medical or religious waivers in more detail. They introduce the revised policy, Board Policy 2900, the LACCD Board of Trustees put in place Sept. 1, 2021, what we need to do, and the timeline we need to meet to comply.
Vaccination and Testing Requirements
